Recognition by the Canadian Association of Geographers
Aug 23, 2009 – Our website has been recognized as one of the 10 outstanding Canadian websites by the Canadian Association of Geographers to be cited for the Transportation Day of the Geography Awareness Week 2009 held November 16-20, 2009.
Geography Awareness Week was launched in 1987 in the USA by presidential proclamation. It is held the third week of each November, promoting the importance of geography education in the United States, Canada and other participating countries. November 19th, 2009 is the Transportation Day.
Dr. Barry Wellar, Program Director of Geography Awareness Week at CAG said: "I am optimistic that visitors to your site will appreciate the geography-transportation connection that I see in your materials, and I look forward to seeing more contributions to that connection in future years."
