The museum features both passenger and freight trains from the Canadian National Railway and Northern Alberta Railway, as well as Auxiliary train and various cars and locomotives, including an all-steel snow plow car. On long weekends during the summer, visitors can even see a few of the trains operate on short tracks at the museum.

Throughout the year the museum has special events that visitors can attend, as well as special projects that the museum undertakes. Currently, the museum is renovating and repairing several of their cars and locomotives.
