In a poll recently done by the National Capital Commission and the Association of Canadian Studies, Ottawa came out as the most positively received major city in Canada. This comes as a bit of a surprise, as many Canadians gripe about the nation's capital, according to The Ottawa Citizen. This is good news for visitors to the city on Canadian rail tours.

The poll, which was carried out online by Leger Marketing, was available in all regions of Canada between September 20th and October 3rd. 2,345 Canadians participated.

Jack Jedwab, executive director of the Association of Canadian Studies, feels that the poll does not reflect political feelings, however. "They’re thinking of it more esthetically. A lot of people like Ottawa esthetically," he said, according to The Ottawa Citizen. The historic museums of the city have been a favorite destination of Canadian train vacations.
