Ask any expert of the Canadian beer industry where to go in Montreal and they may tell you to take the Trans Canadian railway immediately to Montreal's Dieu du Ciel! brewpub. The owners are so enthusiastic about their beers that they even added an exclamation point to the end of the name.

Over 100 different flavors fill the menu of the half brewery, half pub, which constantly switches its taps to feature approximately 20 different beers every day. The staff is meticulous about updating their website, too, so on any given day, Canadian travelers can check their laptops or smart phones to witness an updated list of the available ales and lagers to sample.

Individuals on Canadian train trips who cannot make up their minds on which beer to try can order the brew platter, which offers a substantial sampling of virtually every beverage on the menu. While the spot is a must-visit location for tourists venturing to Canada on rail tours, the facility is a favorite spot for local residents as well. On a brisk, end-of-winter day, stopping into the pub to mingle with locals, chat with the owners and sling back a stout can be the perfect way to warm up.

As the weather begins to warm up in March and April, guests can take advantage of the outdoor seating and sample customer favorites including Aphrodisiaque, a cocoa and vanilla stout, or the Equinoxe du Printemps (Spring equinox), a Canadian maple scotch ale with a steep alcohol content of 9.1 percent.
