Travelers on Canadian rail tours can join in the culinary fun at this year's Food and Wine Expo in Niagara Falls. A premier international tasting event, the expo will feature wines, beers and spirits from around the world, including regional wines from vineyards in the area.

Taking place at the Scotiabank Convention Center this May, the show will have hundreds of wine, beer and liquor exhibitors and dozens of local gourmet flavors. People taking train trips across Canada shouldn't miss this year's event that will offer some of the city's best cuisine for a fraction of the price.

Over the weekend, wine enthusiasts can participate in tutored tastings provided by the event's sponsors. Visitors can get to know local wines in the "Taste of Niagara" class, hosted by a panel of the region's distinguished vintners. For the amateur hobbyist, "Taste Like a Pro" will be offered by expert Gillian Love, who will teach students about legs, body, clarity, intensity and other wine vocabulary words.

Admission to this year's show is $12 and tickets go on sale in April.
