Detailed Itinerary

Day 1 Your Canada Train Trip Begins – arrive in Toronto The sounds of Canada’s largest city welcome you as you step out of your taxi. Toronto beckons and you’re anxious to get out and explore this diverse city.

Your boutique hotel offers the perfect place to rest for the adventures ahead.

Day 2 Urban Exploration – discover Toronto Today on your Canadian train trip, experience a truly unique tour. Explore both the streets and waters today on an amphibious bus. Enjoy views of the harbor from the city and views of the city from the harbor!

Day 3 Roaring Waters - Tour Niagara Falls It’s hard to tear yourself away from your comfortable bed this morning but a trip to the Canadian natural wonder of Niagara Falls is well worth it. If the scenic drive doesn’t wake you then the Maid of Mist will as you get so close to the falls you can feel the spray on your cheeks. Later, unwind in the charming town of Niagara-on-the-Lake.

Day 4 A new Culture Awaits – Toronto to Quebec City on VIA Rail’s Corridor Today on your Canada train trip, the Corridor train carries you north to Quebec City. Traveling by train is the most picturesque route you can take, so relax next to your window and take in the sights of Lake Ontario, the farmlands of Quebec, the famous St. Lawrence River.

Step off the train and into a little bit of Europe. With cobble stone streets and centuries old heritage buildings Quebec City has an historic charm that cannot be found anywhere else.

Day 5 Canadian Train Trip Continues Steeped in History – Tour Quebec City An English speaking guide shares their city’s roots with you today. The architecture just outside your window is amazing and learning the story behind each location only adds to your sense of amazement. Visit Place Royale, where the Chateau Frontenac sits grandly on the plateau above, drawing all eyes toward it. Be sure to get a taste of the traditional foods - maple syrup, tourtiere and crepes.

Day 6 From History to Metropolis – Quebec City to Montreal on VIA Rail’s Corridor Journey through some of Quebec’s most scenic countryside as your Canadian train trip continues to Montreal. You watch as the water of the St. Lawrence River glistens in the sunlight. You are greeted by the delectable scents of Montreal famous for bagels, smoked meats and, of course, poutine.

Day 7 French Canada’s Hub - tour Montreal Step back in time on your Canada train trip when you stop at the gorgeous Notre Dame Basilica and the impressive campus of McGill University. You cap off the day with a view from Mont Royal. Translated as “Royal Mountain,” the view from the top is as rich as the French royalty of old. Sit at a sidewalk café sipping cafe au lait and revel in Montreal’s inescapable “joie de vivre.”

Day 8 With Fond Memories – Depart Toronto Reboard the Corridor for your last train journey. Your Canadian train trip comes to an end in Toronto.

* If you arrive in Montreal on a Wednesday through Sunday during the summer, get ready for a trip back in time. Dressed in period clothing, your guide hands you a lantern, map, and leads you to the streets of Old Montreal. Your shoes echo on the cobble stone streets as you search for clues of ghosts, heroes, and villains from Montreal’s colorful past.
