Detailed Itinerary

(Please note, like most of our Canada rail packages & tours, this eastern Canadian railroad vacation can be customized to your needs - just ask our local experts when you call).

Day 1 - Your Canadian Train Trip Begins – arrive in Toronto
When you arrive at Toronto’s international airport it’s nice to start your Canada vacation with a friendly face to meet you and drive you by private car to your downtown hotel. Enjoy glimpses of life in this bustling city - perhaps couples wearing fan regalia hurrying along to a Toronto Maple Leafs hockey game; a fashionable young woman loaded with shopping bags as she hails a cab; the smell of Thai food wafting from a passing restaurant. Multicultural, modern, and exciting, Toronto welcomes you. Get out and explore Canada’s most dynamic metropolis.

Day 2 of your Canada vacation - Urban Exploration – Discover Toronto
Given that Toronto is Canada’s largest city it can be hard to choose where to start your sightseeing. This dilemma is solved with a morning guided tour – a great way to get your bearings in the city. Discover where to find illustrious Casa Loma, old and new City Halls. A drive along the harbor front, with the CN Tower standing tall behind you, completes your tour and leaves you excited to get out on the town.

Day 3 - The quintessential Canadian experience - Tour Niagara Falls
Bright and early, you begin the journey to one of Canada’s greatest natural wonders – Niagara Falls. Arriving at the Falls, don a stylish (not!) waterproof poncho - the classy uniform of the Maid of the Mist, and prepare for an exciting Canadian adventure. Your poncho does its best at keeping you dry as your boat takes you close enough to the falls to feel the spray on your face.

A relaxing drive along Niagara Parkway takes you to charming Niagara-on-the-Lake - the ideal place to unwind after an exciting visit to the Falls.

Day 4 - A new Canadian culture awaits – Toronto to Quebec City by train
Leaving Toronto behind, you travel by rail on the Corridor train as you head north to Quebec City on your Canadian train trip.

Quebec City is a little bit of Europe right in Canada. With a historic city wall, cobblestone streets, and centuries-old heritage buildings there is an old-world air here that cannot be found anywhere else in North America.

Day 5 - Steeped in French Canadian History – tour Quebec City
An English-speaking guide is proud to share their city’s roots with you today. The architecture just outside your window is stunning and learning the story behind each location only adds to your sense of awe. Feel as though you are stepping right into Quebec City’s colorful history as you visit authentic Quebecois shops and sample mouthwatering crepes. Overnight in Quebec City.

Day 6 of your Canada train vacation - Quebec City to Montreal on the Corridor
Travel through some of Quebec’s most scenic countryside as your Canadian train trip takes you to Montreal. The St. Lawrence River glistens in the sunlight and the charming town of Cap-de-la-Madeleine passes beyond the train’s window.
One walk around the city - along the famous bank of the St. Lawrence River, through Old Montreal’s narrow streets, down trendy St. Catherine’s Street - and you are hooked on Montreal. Overnight in Montreal.

Day 7 - Tour Montreal - The French Canadian business hub
See the lively residential and financial districts as your English-speaking guide fills you in on life in diverse Montreal. Stop at the gorgeous Notre Dame Basilica and learn through osmosis by visiting the campus of McGill University. You complete the day with a view from the top of Montreal’s namesake – Mont Royal. Overnight in Montreal.

Day 8 - Your Canada train vacation ends with fond memories – depart Toronto
Your Canada train trip comes to an end in Toronto today. One last journey on Canada’s railway will carry you back through rural Quebec before arriving into downtown Toronto in the late afternoon.
